August 17, 1916– Sealed proposals will be received at this office until 8 o’clock p. m. on the 16th day of September, 1916 and then opened, for the purchase from the Treasury Department of the Steamer “George M. Sternberg,” with certain equipment thereon, in accordance with particulars which may be had from the undersigned. The sale will be subject to the approval of the Secretary of the Treasury as to the reasonableness of the bid. The Government reserves the right to reject any or all bids. W. A.
