At the examination of the President at 8 A. M., the temperature was 98.5°; pulse, 100; respiration, 17. The conditions of the parotid and wound are improving; he was somewhat wakeful during the night, but not restless, and slept sufficiently. The enemata and stimulants have been suspended during the past thirty-six hours. On the whole, the past twenty-four hours give evidence of favorable progress.
