The President has passed an excellent day.  The drainage of the wound is now efficient, and the pus secreted by its deeper portions has been coming away spontaneously.  The afternoon rise of temperature is almost a degree less than yesterday and the day before.  Pulse at present, 108; temperature, 101°; respiration, 19.
