8.30 A. M.
The President enjoyed a refreshing sleep during the greater part of the night.  The slight febrile rise of yesterday afternoon had subsided by midnight, and this morning his temperature is again normal.  A gradual improvement of his general condition, in all particulars, is observable, and his recognized by himself.  His pulse is now 92; temperature, 98.3°; respiration, 18.
