The President remains quite as comfortable as at the date of the last bulletin.  He takes his nourishment well.  Pulse, 100; temperature, 99.7°; respiration, 23.

A barely legible manuscript
Original manuscript of the bulletin dated Wednesday, July 6, 1881. This is the first original of nearly one hundred held by the National Library of Medicine, within the papers of Joseph Janvier Woodward (1833-1884), one of President Garfield’s attending physicians.

This post is one of a series reenacting the official bulletins released to the public by the physicians to President Garfield during his illness after the shooting on July 2, 1881.
